My Story
My Story
Artist: Much of the art I do is influenced by my early childhood where I spent a lot of time at my grandma’s farm and in my parents large gardens. If I wasn't outside climbing the wooden gate to play with the goats, climbing the apple tree, getting purple stained hands picking elderberries, then I was inside surrounded by a rainbow of crayons doing drawings of my family, the animals, and nature. I grew up in an artistic family. My father worked from home as an illustrator and painter. Here's a link to his site. http://www.heartandsoulartworks.com
I studied art as a child in Philadelphia, PA taking Saturday classes at various art schools learning still life drawing, figure drawing, portraiture, fashion illustration, color theory, ceramics, and more. Later I studied mostly traditional art as well as some digital art at Moore College of Art and Design (1989), The Art Institute of Pittsburgh, PA, (2005-06) and the Academy of Art University of San Francisco, CA (2006-2009). I have dabbled in freelance illustration throughout my life while raising my two kids and rescuing fur babies. I created art for print on note cards and sold them at local gift shops in various areas of southeastern PA where I lived most of my life. Soon after starting my pet care business in 2010, I began offering pet portraits. I continue to offer pet portraits as well as family portraits, and I love incorporating fur babies into my country illustrations. In 2017, I moved with my family to Ohio, just outside Cleveland. Currently, I do custom portraits on request and do country-inspired art when I get the urge. Feel free to contact me if you would like a keepsake portrait.
